Has anyone on here ever tried to trim the sides down on a Greyboe Renegade stock? I have one already on a target rifle and would like to get another one to save the 6 month wait for a McMillian Game Scout. I am currently sourcing parts for a hunting rifle and I like the grip of the Renegade, but I would rather have a narrower profile on the forearm. According to the guys at Greyboe, the stock is solid and has no "fill". I am wondering if you could chuck it up in a mill and shave the sides to a slimmer profile.

Any thoughts or ideas????

I've never messed with the forend of the Renegades, but I have installed the KMW cheek hardware on quite a few. The backend of the stocks have a hollow void but everything I have machined has been the same material the whole stock is made of. I wouldnt hesitate to mill the sides down.

This was a renegade I shaped by hand. It still isn’t 100% finished but is turning out nice with the extra time. Be aware that you will have to use some sort of body filler to fill air pocket voids once you start removing material from the stock.
