Im wanting a portible powerless reloading setup. My 650 xl is at my shop at work. Im looking at the harrels stuffs the turret press for a setup at home and to take to my cabin etc. what powder thrower would you choose and what scale. I have a rcbs that came with my rock chucker. Its cheap but works. Should i get a better one and if so which one. Thanks to all

Harrell's makes fantastic powder measures. Throws LT32 within half a tenth. My redding BR pales in comparison. On the other hand, the Harrell's won't throw big stock powder well, if at all.

I also have one of their combo presses as I use Sinclair bullet seaters. Great for what I use, but their are plenty of manual presses out there. I use a Redding Ultramag for larger cases. Both will last a lifetime.

Harrell makes a great priced custom die, but only for a few cartridges if I remember correctly.

i would stick with what you have with the addition of a trickler. throw just under and trickle to your load. a little slow at first but practice speeds things up.
you did say you had a beam scale ,right? if not rcbs 5-10 if good enough.

I've got one of their big ones with the bearings inside. I use it for everything that doesn't come across the Dillon. If you get one, I have a computer spreadsheet that has several powders and settings that might get you in the ball park. Maybe it might help you get started... if you want it. If you have MS Excel it should work for you. I've only sent it out to a couple of hundred people on here. Lynwood and his brother make some fine stuff. In my book you can't buy anything any better for manual work.

Love my harrrels powder thrower.. I don't even bother weighing ball powders once it's set. stick powders are usually within .2-.3 grains... Then I throw an pinch of powder in until it's on.
