Harris bipod adapter?

I have a Harris S-LM bipod with the classic stud mounting clamp and a pod loc, attached to my Tikka Tac A1 using a Magpul MLOK stud.

A lot of people recommend to get an adapter such as Really Right Stuff’s, to remove the standard stud mounting plate from the bipod and replace it with an adapter that interfaces directly to Picatinny/MLOK/ARCA. Depending on what your rifle has.

I really wonder what the benefit is? My setup appears solid. I never have to re-tighten the stud mounting clamp, and if I would replace it, I’d lose the benefit of those two leaf springs.

If you aren’t going to be moving your bipod then it’s not an issue. The benefit of arca is you have the full length of the foreend to slide it to and then quick on and off between rifles.

What he said. No need if the bipod won’t get moved and you have no need to slide it up and down the forend then keep it as is.
