Has anyone made a Mega upper into a side charger?

I have a Mega Arms MKM, and I've finally got it to shoot properly. Previously, the bolt wasn't cycling, and I had to work the charging handle after every shot, which was a pain, especially since I had a Battleline SAPR and had to keep flipping the cheekpiece out of the way.

Anyway, before I got the darn thing working, I was wondering about making it a left charging upper. I don't need to do this, but I'm just curious if it's feasible, and who makes a BCG that would work in a left side charger?

Mega makes a side charging upper but it is for the AR15 not 308 and it is right side charging.
I suppose you could mill the MA TEN upper in a similar way and fit a bolt handle to the carrier like what Young MFG does.
It really shouldn't be terribly hard for someone with machining experience and tools.
I don't see a left charging handle situation working.

So you can't use the Battleline SAPR with a charging handle?
I was thinking of getting one ~ I may have to reconsider.
Seems it would make a rifle useless in some situations.

Gun Fighter Gear makes this Left Side Charging CH for the AR15. Wonder if they'll come out with one for the Large Frame AR. At least it will save you from milling the upper.

JP makes an upper with a left side charging handle. It really is a nice system. I don't think you could modify a Mega upper to make it work. I have an LRP-07 and I really like the set up. JP does sell a upper receiver so you can build your own but it is not cheap.

That Gun Fighter handle wouldn't work, I have the SAPR set up to where it's just a bit too low for the charging handle to clear underneath it. It's a good idea though, I'd like to try it out.

I have the Mega charging handle with a Badger Tactical Latch right now. The Badger is fine an on AR15, but something about it just doesn't feel right on the large frame AR with the longer pull on the CH. I'm hoping Rainier releases the 7.62 version of their Raptor soon, I'd like to give that a try.

I haven't seen one available for sale yet.

The 7.62 Raptor has been out for a while now...finding one in stock is the problem. They are excellent in every respect...not cheap by a long-shot...but worth the money in my experience and opinion. You can backorder from Brownells (where I got my last one) or you can get signed up at Rainier to receive status/in-stock updates. Other vendors also carry them, but again...you'll have to search around as I don't know of anyone who current inventory. You might check the BARFCOM equipment exchange and see if you can find a dealer there that has them.
