Have you ever bought anything because of an add?

I'm not sure I have ever bought anything specifically because of an add. But more and more I'm positive that I will NOT buy something because of an add.

I think you mean an advertisement which is an Ad. I believe an add is an additional perk included with the purchase. I will buy because of an add but the really creative Ad will have you buying a product without you even being aware of the influence it had on making the purchase decision.
Just to be more clear on Ad vs. Add

Thanks captain! We were all so confused!

You buy based on ads all the time. How else did you know it existed? Maybe not directly from the ad, but an ad made you aware it existed.

Granted there are items we randomly find at the store, but a good percentage of items you buy are advertised....we do it here all the time.

Aside from the lastest sandwich at Whataburger, not even. An ad (or add, if you prefer) makes me aware. I ain't buying a new car because some random guy in a commercial picked up a hot chick in one or the manufacturer says it's "trail rated."

All the time, look at the add from the supermarket. Ground beef, salmon and country style ribs on sale. Detergent buy one get 2. I am all over the sale adds.

Most ad's now add a SJW propaganda spin to the ad .
Which usually makes up my mind . Not to buy their product .
Sell the product . But they can shove the social leftist message . Way , way up their ass !

$253.6B spent on advertising in North America in 2019.

That wasn't done because everybody ignores advertising. Even if at a subconscious level, you are being made aware of products, services or deals all the time.

Lot of veterans out there with start up companies trying to make a go of it in the post 9/11 world where the public is in a "thank you for your service" mood. Can't say as I blame 'em. If I could have thought up some cool idea, and got some backing, I would have probably tried it too.

As far as advertisements go... I'll have a Pepsi please.

Wow, talk about hitting all the bullshit tag lines. Tactical shoes? Hand pressed as he puts it in a machine? Good grief, you should get banned for the sales pitch without paying for the vendor account.
Im not selling anything dude.... or buying your bullshit.... you got a chub and ordered a set right away didnt you?

Im just being honest. I dont buy things cause of commercials often. Hell i buy most everything used. All my pants are from goodwill, most of my guns come from pawn shops, i buy vehicles pre broken. @DarnYankeeUSMC did it make your day to shit on my dreams? Finally got my pf flyers.... lol

Yes, last week i bought these because of this ad.

Great ad ,l will NEVER buy anything from them now that I know they are a bunch of mask wearing sheep . I would have listened to the ad but I couldn't understand his mumbling with that diaper over his face .

I also lost whatever respect I had for Tim Kennedy

I was in my late teens and wanted a 22 handgun. Everybody said get a Ruger so I went down to the gunshop to look at them. The Colt 1911 caught my eye. They were only available in 45ACP but I liked the look of old slabsides.

As I walked out the door I saw the Smith and Wesson on the cover of Shooting Times magazine, bought it, and read the article about a dozen times.

It wasn't an ad but it might as well have been one. I saved up some money and dragged my Dad down to the gunshop a month later so he could do the 4473 for me. I still have it and wish I had the Anschutz on the cover as well.

There are two types of people.

(1) People who buy stuff becuase of adds
(2) Liars

Think about your favorite firearm...how did you hear about it. From a friend? Whatcha' think "Word of mouth advertising" is all about

Years ago I bought 2 items from ads.
1 was a mini camera for 2 box tops from Post Toasties and a Quarter sent to Battle Creek, MI and wait 10 weeks.
The other was a patch for your jacket that put you in "The Straight Arrow Club" for a Dime and label from Ovaltine or some such shit. Fucking patch finally came and was round with the arrow going around the outer edge. Straight arrow my ass, fuckin thing is a circle.
However, yes I have purchased a lot of things that I found out about from ads and lately have seen ads and thought I would never by anything from those Woke SJW Libtards so it works both ways.

I can't really think of a time an ad convinced me to buy anything honestly. I've certainly seen ads for movies or games I wanted but I've always heard about them before the I saw the ads.

adds, muzzle break, 6.5 Creedmore...

fuck, now I’m giving myself an anxiety attack by dwelling on these typos 😂😂😂

I’d imagine most things are purchased indirectly after seeing an ad. Like it’s been said, you’re made aware of whatever by some form of ad. Surely there’s some form of research, then one decides to buy the thing based on a need or want, after having been made aware of its existence from an ad.

Seeing an ad and seeing a certain product exists is one thing, based on that, yes I buy from ads

its a related but separate thing to believe the claims made in an ad and buy based on the claims

or to buy because your favorite sports icon / movie star endorses the product in an ad (I have never done this)

Have you seen the Dillon Blue Press magazine? Essentially a giant ad but convinced me to buy an XL750 with all the fixins' (my first press too). Something about those ads...

Are you saying she’s for sale? Still available?

Where the fuck is @Slapchop? He used to be on here but is gone now.
Damn, I had a lot of fun when he posted in the Pit and am guilty of pimping him along just for fun.

Ill cop to being influenced but my favorite firearm, the 1911 45ACP I bought because thats what all the guys in my favorite 1950's WWII movies carried. Fucked up a lot of Nazis and Japs and that was good enough for me.

I was on Facebook and saw an ad for Flatiron Pepper Company hot pepper flakes. Only thing I've ever bought from a FB ad, and I was 100% happy with my decision. I've ordered from them several times, and highly recommend their Smoky pepper blend. Super good stuff!

I have had mine since late last year. I was of the opinion that I would be able to jump barriers, climb walls, get traction on slippery stuff, not have sharp objects pierce the soles and all kinds of other tacticool shit. I have spent an extraordinary amount of time reviewing video of a certain day. So now that I firmly believe that the cereal boys can't connect the dots and pinch me. I'll confess to at least testing a pair out.

Only two things specifically... a 1985 Mercedes 500 SEL... And an SL-Wedge Mercedes a decade later.

They did a (Controversial) ad in 1984 for the new S-Class showing some dude riding in the back of one down the Autobahn... And asking the German driver 'When do we arrive?' The driver says "at 220 KMH we should arrive in 35 minutes. The American in back says... "220... impressive."

It took me about 8 years, but it was a magnificent car. And, yes, it would do all of 220 KMH in Miles Per Hour.

The second was this ad.

And a decade later, got one of those, too.

Most car advertising, though, is not designed to sell cars. It's designed to increase owner satisfaction numbers and reduce warranty complaints. When a person is happy with their vehicle and feels they have made the right choice, reinforced by the ad, the JD Powers numbers go way up... and that sells more cars. The ads are mainly for post-sale.

As for most ads... meh... But Mercedes Ad Agency in the 1980's and early 1990's hit it out of the damn park!

This reminded me of when you could dress up nice in the early 2000's.... im not sure if anyone else did this, but my girlfriend and i would dress up nice and say we were about to be married, just engaged, and i had just gotten a raise so we would like to buy... usually a corvette cause im partial but we also took jags, mercs, and even a viper one time for a "weekend to decide" if we wanted to buy it. So many miles i drove for free in brand new cars with a pretty girl beside me. Then you just had to have insurance allready on something and leave id.... the good ole days.

When I was in High School, one of my good friends dad had a Freedom Arms .454 Casull. Their cheap version was in the neighborhood of $1200 and FAR out of my budget but, oh man!!! After the very first time I fired it, I wanted one. Fast forward about 15 years and Taurus advertised their Raging Bull. I had my favorite gun shop order one, sight unseen. I have not regretted that one bit. Those Freedom Arms machines are of the "old" revolver grip design and the recoil will smack your middle finger with the trigger guard, leaving a bruise after only 2-3 rounds. It also recoils and twists moonward REAL hard. The Taurus is the "new" grip shape, polymer grips, ported barrel. It recoils pretty much straight back at you and you are back on target right away.
I went to a Defensive Pistol class with nine buddies. We were the only ones in the class. On the last day, we had a competition. One of my good friends had a Wilson Combat 45ACP that he was REAL good with. 2 of the guys are revolver guys and one still has a Python in 357 mag. He's pretty good with it. I shot my Remington Rand USArmy issue 1911 in the auto comp and placed second. No surprise there but he only beat me on time by 2 or 3 seconds. I won the Revolver competition with the Raging Bull because I didn't get any missed target penalties. We were having fun and decided to have an anything goes round. My buddy with the Wilson won, another buddy with a Sig 9mm (226?) placed second and I shot 3rd with the Taurus. If I had been about 2 seconds faster, I would have placed 2nd.
The bluing on this Raging Bull is thin and has worn in several places faster than it should have. I've been considering Duracoat or Cerakote on it. But the damn thing is very accurate.

^^^^^^THIS RIGHT HERE^^^^^^
