So iv'e used a rcbs beam scale for 25 years. Started shooting long range about 6 months ago with 6.5 creedmoor and now a .223 .
More so with the 6.5mm so far. I have been reloading the .223 and getting 30-40 spread in velocity. Use Lapua brass in both calibers. the 6.5 is more like 20 fps spread. Berger and or Hornady ,mostly Berger.
So do you think things would tighten up if I could get more accurate charge weights?

Definitely . . . not only lower ES's, but more consistent.

With my RCBS M500 I could get my ES's in the 20's like you (but with my .308), then started using an electronic scale that's accurate to +/- .02 gr, my ES's are now in the low teens, consistently.

I have been using a Hornady beam scale my whole life. I just got the shipping notification for a new V3 Autothrow and FX120 so I will let you know if it changes.

Aside from time spent in the reloading room, my beam scale never held my shooting capabilities back. I am getting SD's of 3 and ES's of 10 with my beam scale in 6 dasher.

So where do you get this scale and autotrickler? Does this come as a package or do you order each item separately?
Where’s a good place to get this stuff and how much money we talking about?

This is where I got mine. Request a quote and you will get a phone call. You’re looking at $1025ish shipped and a 2 month wait (they’re that popular).

I have made the switch from a 505, to lyman gen 6, to chargemaster lite, to the V3 kit and kabootle. Throughout it all, the 505 using check weights, has always been my final check scale. Hard for gravity to ever change or give up the ghost. Up until the V3, I always used the 505 when i wanted down to the ernal consistency between loads. While i will still use the 505 to validate the V3 kit, I will now use the V3 for down to the kernal consistency. IMO, the biggest plus of the v3 over all other mentioned measuring devices is, it's speed. I can use my 505 to accomplish the same things as the v3, but i can't do it as quickly, which helps when loading for rifle.
