I have a 308 T3 Tactical with a 20" barrel. The barrel is a 1-11" twist, when I look at Hornady 178 AMAX they say 1-10". At this twist rate where am I going to run into problems with stability? I really want to run this rifle out to 600yds. Any suggestions? Also, with Varget and RE15 can I run benchrest primers or should I run Magnum primers?

Only way to know is to load it and shoot it. 178AMAX is a fine bullet. If 600 yards is your ceiling, can always try 168 grains SMK also.

With respect to primers, why use magnum in 308?

I've got the same rifle and have shot 190 SMK's out of it. Mine really likes 155 Lapua and they are good out past 1000yd. Out of a 20" barrel a lighter bullet will allow more velocity and with the 155 scenar you don't give up any bc.
