Just looked at his site and his shop isnt but about 30-45 minutes from the house. Im in that area just about every day and didnt even know it was there. Hopefully he will chime in and I might can go sit down with him and learn a little more.
Alright for my build here goes, oh the only thing I have built is 10-22s so I figure this will be a totaly differant monster. Ill start off by saying what the rifle will be used for and we can go from there. It will be used for deer hunting and a little bit of paper punching. I figure the longest shot I will need to make on a deer for now will only be up to 400-450 yards. But I never know where I might end up. I would like to take a savage 110 action in a 7mm mag, and build off of that. For now I plan on seeing what it will do bone stock once I find one. If that dosnt work for me, the first thing I plan on changing is the barrel. I have been looking at Shilen bbls so any thoughts or sugestions would be great. Next will be the trigger, thinking about Timney sugestiong would be great. then the stock havent made up my mind yet which one. I figure this build will take me a while because Im not in a real big hurry "as of now". The reason I am wanting to go with savage is most of the work can be done at the house. The reason for going with 7 mag is you can find bullets pretty much anywhere, because I dont reload "as of now". Guys I know this probably isnt a very good decription of what I have planed, but its about the best I can do for now. If yall have any sugestions or coments it would be greatly apreciated.
