I got this as pay for a job it was brand new when i got it the lower is a stag, the upper i have no idea only marking i can find is a key hole........ i dont know how to post pics sorry!! and i dont know what other info you need..... please help

Re: help I D my ar-15

That's not much to go by, can you describe it more? Barrel length? M4 feed ramps? Carry handle/is it removable? Is the twist marked on the barrel anywhere?

The only uppers I have seen with a "key hole" are Rock Rivers, but I am no expert.

Re: help I D my ar-15

barrel is 16inch, from gas block to 1inch before flash hider it is .726di. no twist rate that i can find. handguard is round alum. and is about 7 1/4inches long. the key hole stamp is above the forward assist. it is a flat top. hope this helps thanks

Re: help I D my ar-15

The "keyhole" is just a forge marking-Cerro I THINK. The same forgings are used by many different makers. Any letters on the bolt carrier or bolt? MAY be something on the bbl under the handguard too, but probably not worth removing the free-float to see.

I hesitate to reference this, but there IS a lot of good info on barfcom as well.

Re: help I D my ar-15

Ive got a novel idea, how about asking whomever you got it from? Ask them if it is a factory gun, look on RRA's website and see if there is a stock gun that looks like yours, etc.

Re: help I D my ar-15

as mtrmn said, there are quite a few companies that sell uppers with the key hole stamp, not just RRA. I have a bushmaster that has a key hole... more info will be needed

Re: help I D my ar-15

Stole from ar15:

The keyhole logo (Cerro Forge) only identifies the forge that produce the raw forging that the upper receiver was produced from. Most of the major manufacturers use forge blanks with this forge mark. Does the barrel have any markings or stampings? Some barrels are stamped in areas that are covered by the handguards/ FF tube/rails (usually left side, close to the upper).

I could give you a list of brands that I know of that have used Cerro forged blanks.
