Help me choose a 50th b-day gift for myself!

If it is coming up soon, may be a little late to plan a hunt. I say Vudoo or Rim X with a ZCO. I take material shit over experiences any day, it keeps giving.

I'll be 40 before long. Went with college buddies for elk in Colorado and got my first elk. DIY.
I vote the same for you. I'll be going every other year till I can't walk or find someone to carry me.

So the 50th is closing fast and I wanna do something nice as I doubt I'll see another half a century so....
Option 1) A big game hunt... Elk, Aoudad, fallow or axis deer. Gemsbok, or Scimitar Oryx. Those types of critters.
Option 2) A vudoo or a RimX and some nice glass.
Option 3) Hooker and blow (added at the suggestion of @Im2bent  )

So what say you? I have about 8K to play with.
Hooker, blow, cialis

With 8k, I'd be getting all 3. Hookers and blow are cheap, $200. Split the rest between a hunt and a Vudoo.

I'm not sure where you live, if you were going to pick up your rifle in person and passing through Texas there are some options. My personal choice would be the RimX, simply because of the barrel switch-ability.
Most all of that other stuff could be taken care of while you were in Texas. After the Hooker(s) etc, you could work in some really exotic rimfire hunting in South Texas like Mexican Ground Squirrel, Blue Quail and Bob-White Quail as well as various other excellent rimfire targets.

So it seems like the choice is clear from all these posts. Bump the budget to $15K to $20K and DO IT ALL!!! Can’t take it with me and don’t like anyone enough to leave it to them! 🤣🤣🤣

Spend it with those that matter.
All the other shit is inconsequential.

You are absolutely correct, sir! Thank you for realigning my priorities. I was blessed (cursed?) with my b-day being 5 days before Christmas so my family will arrive in droves shortly after and we will be together for the holidays. Just pondering on a trinket to celebrate making it to a half a century! Hoping to celebrate becoming an adult shortly there after. 🤣

All bullshitting aside get the Vudoo it will last forever. The idea of a hunt is great .....till you get skunked then the dream hunt turns out to be a waste of money and time. You will be shooting that Vudoo when you turn 100 (unless you keep taking Viagra and blow to bang those hookers then all bets are off on your longevity).

I'll add to that last to last bit.

Memories are great.
Until dementia sets in. You won’t remember them.
Get something great to leave to your favorite son, daughter, nephew, friends’ kid. Whoever….
Something from the past that they will no longer be able to get in the future. Pass it on.
Give them Love of Freedom and Country.

The real deal😎
Man that is so cool! I have one piece of ivory in the from of an OLD Simpson shave brush and treasure it! 1911 grip panels? Legend status! Possibility of a pic so I can live vicariously?

Get yourself a brand new vehicle, maybe a 2022 ford raptor 37” edition or something sporty and fast.
That's happening regarding. I hit a hog in the wee hours around Pittburg, TX with the Yaris and it was not pretty. I'm not sure a Raptor fits my bill but I am looking at a 2022 Taco TRD Pro.

Where you able to savage some of the pig? In Montana if we hit deer or elk we have the right to salvage the meat. That’s how some people “road hunt” off season lol. New TRD would be sweet! Plans to make it overland, baja or all around?

Dude, I would contact the member here @THEIS for some sort of down payment on some serious weaponry. You know, like a full auto paint ball or air soft .50 cal. ;)

The bastard ran off! It honestly sounded like I hit a BIG rock but there is hair all in the front facia. Pushed the lower core support in almost 6 inches, ripped all the lower covers off, and bushed up the plastic pretty good. Used a ratchet strap and and a tree to pull the core support back out and miraculously didn't bust the radiator, A/C condenser, or the trans cooler. Drove home today at 85MPH with the A/C on and it never missed a lick! That damn Yaris continues to impress me! 330K on the clock and it still got 36MPG on the way down! The 2022 TRD Pro has and extra 2.5" of lift in the front and 1.5" of lift in the back. Thinking 33x12.50s and ARB lockers would make me happy. Add a tent and I would be set!. As an aside Toyota has decided to keep the 6 speed manual as an option on the Pro and that makes me a happy boy! I know autos are better for off road and crawling but I NEED my third pedal!

Then those grips are worth a fortune.
Are they really?

I may or may not have a single tusk about 2 1/2 to 3' long. My wife's grandfather was a merchant marine and used to do scrimshaw before he got blown to pieces inspecting a fuel ship for Hess about 35 years ago. All sorts of walrus tusks and who knows what else too. He was a traveling Russian turned Snow Mexican and said tusk is NOT located within the US. I'm not sure what the legal side of things looks like yet.

Is it wort making grips out of? I figured one day I might hit up Caspian and make my boys matching heirloom 1911s in fancy presentation boxes.

What part of NM?, land isn't cheap over here anymore.

I'd say buy whatever is going to make you happy for longer....
Vudoo and nice glass are not a bad idea.
Hookers and blow both go down easier as the night gets longer....🤣

I know, who knew Obumer would ef things up so totally you couldn’t even enjoy legal ivory again. I’d be happy to send a pic if someone wants to upload it. Nikon, how about a nice low impact black bear hunt? Did a couple with both my brothers that I’ll always remember. We just weren’t quick enough to get dad up there with us.
