Well, I'm going to be getting a pretty good size check in a month or so... time to start planning what cans I'm going to get!

I have the following firearms to equip:
-.17 HMR rifle
-.22 pistol/rifle
-.40 pistols
-.308 OBR
-.223 AR's
-.308 R700
-.223 R700
-.300 R700

Now ideally, I would have one rimfire can that would work on all rimfires. Pistol can only needs to be .40; I do not own a .45 anymore and don't plan on it in the future... I'd like to bave brakes on all of my rifles; the OBR already has a surefire brake, but it's for the legacy style can that extends over the barrel. So I'd have to find that can in stock from someone, or just replace the brake with something else. I used my rifles for hunting here in MI and we do not currently allow cans when hunting. SO, it would be best to run brakes; Guess it isn't mandatory though... but the semi-autos will continue to have brakes.

So I'm looking at:
- 1 rimfire
- 1 .40 pistol can
- 1 magnum rated .30 can
- 1 .223 can

Would love to get some input on these. I've heard great things about the thunderbeast cans, it it seems only the standard .30 comes in a brake mount. Heard good things about SilencerCo as well, and they have a nice "direct" military sales program. As far as cost, I'd like somewhat reasonable; I don't see any reason I need a $3000 can... But Surefire, AAC and thunderbeast are not out of range.

I'd also be interested in a can that will direct mount on an A2 flashhider... I think YHM or Gemtech made one? Anyone else?

Thanks for the input guys!

Re: Help Me Decide

I have a very similar setup. I went this route...

Thunderbeast 30P-1 to be shot on .260 rem, 308, 300 blkout
Thunderbeast 223A to be shot on .223 AR's
Silencerco Osprey 45 to be shot on .40's, 9's, 45's, and 300 subs
Thunderbeast 22L-1 to be shot on .22lr and maybe someday a 5.7

I would get a .45 can instead of a 40 because you can shoot the sub calibers through a 45 can. sound is not much different. Silencerco has a website about it. Osprey and Tirant both have changeable pistons to match the threads of your pistols. I stayed away from quick mounts because I heard too many problems and didn't want to deal with it-- others run them with no problems.

Re: Help Me Decide

Okay, I'm really thinking I need to stick to brake mount cans if I plan to also use them on AR's. Seems like my best options would be AAC or Surefire; thoughts?

I'm prob going to go Osprey for my pistol can

.22... Sparrow? I'd take input on this... and the pistol can for that matter. I like the idea that the osprey has a chance of not obstructing the sights on my Sigs

- 1 rimfire-Silencerco Sparrow
- 1 .40 pistol can-go 45acp (Osprey)
- 1 magnum rated .30 can- TBAC 30P-1 or 30BA
- 1 .223 can- TBAC 223P-1
