Looking for a scope for my 7 SAUM LR hunting build. I’d like to stay around the $2000 or less range. Weight is a consideration thick is why I don’t just buy another Razor Gen 2. I’m looking at NF NX8 4-32 (ffp or sfp????? Can’t decide), or Leupold VX6-HD 4-24. I think that at lowest magnification 4x is good for close shots and 24x is enough for 1000-1200 yards. I do shoot steel occasionally and plan to with this rifle as well.

My vote is for the Nightforce. the NX8 is a great scope and NF has made the price point very attractive. While most hunters would not need or ask for 32x, the NX8 is giving your NXS build quality with even more magnification. You might also re-think the magnification. The NX8 2.5-20x is more than enough to "hit steel at 1,000 to 1,200 yards. But, that is a personal choice. I used to think that I could not imagine a scenario where anytone needed to shoot with a scope more than 25x, and we are seeing the ELR crowd buy the ATACR 7-35x all day long. I had a converstion with a S&B executive 9 months ago, and he was selling me on why going to 45x is needed. All personal preference.

Go NF NX8 2.5-20 or more. Has everything you need.
I’m really wanting to go with the NX8 2.5-20 however one concern is the short length of tube in front of the turrets. Worried about having enough room to adjust for eye relief. My action is a Defiance Deviant GA Hunter. Has anyone had an issue with this? Was favoring the 4-32 as it looks to have a longer tube and therefore more room to adjust.
