Long story short, I an talking to a guy online about trading my AXMC for his M110 clone. He asked me to send him some groups because his last AI shot like shit. I sent a 3 separate shooting day targets all showing the rifle at .5 to .6 MOA which is my ability at the moment.

He proceeds to tell me that that is not a shooter and that is sucks how much we pay for these rifles and they don't shoot. Then goes on to tell me how his last M110 clone shot 3/4" at 400 yards. Now I am not an idiot. Maybe he got lucky and it shot that one time, but I know that is not the norm, but to tell me an AI doesn't shoot when I provide proof makes me think this is no the person to be doing business with.

Am I crazy or over thinking this?

If I can shoot 1/2 moa groups on a given day, but there will always be some 1.5 moa blown groups in the bunch, what is it? It could be argued it's a 1/2 moa rifle excluding shooter error. It could also be argued it's a 1.5 moa rifle (shooter+rifle+ammo). We're only as good as our worst, but that probably isn't the rifles fault.

While I agree, the gun can shoot. If I can reproduce it time and time again then it's not luck. Even the greatest drivers in the world crash a car from time to time. Doesn't mean the car isn't a driver. Terrible analogy I know but you get the point.

Some people get sucked into believing they and their equipment are one hole shooters by only remembering or keeping the cherry picked groups. If I only kept my best groups, all of my guns would be marketed as 1/4 MOA or better. He sounds like a blowhard to me. I have had and have guns that are capable of 3/4” at 400 but those groups are hard to repeat on command, but I’m not going to label them .187 MOA rigs. I always provide a sheet of targets that are together, like the Barfcum MOA all day comp. Ask him to provide multiple targets in one picture or better yet what I now offer is FaceTime for the proof. I hook my phone into my phone scope/Meopta S2 82 and you can watch me shoot groups at any distance you want. It’s my way of providing an accuracy guarantee. I sold my extra AXMC to a guy and shot a 10 shot .5 MOA group with the 6.5 CM barrel with him watching through the spotter, he said I’ll take it after 5 rounds but I just kept shooting ha.

I'd ask him if he'll guarantee his SR25 to repeat his claim with match ammo. He sounds like an idiot to me, especially claiming his last AI shot like shit. Why didn't he send it in? Probably because he never had one to begin with lol.

He's either wasting your time and has no intention on following through with a trade or is just looking for a basis to get you down on the value of your rifle. Either way a D-bag. I no longer accept trades on stuff I'm selling because of all the bullshit involved and how unreasonable people are. IMO just sell your kit and then buy what you want, I would also steer clear of buying from him as well to avoid getting a turd.

You are not crazy. Tell him to bring his rifle to your home range and you will shoot for "pinks" if he rifle shoots like he says he gets a free AI so he dosen't have to complain about price.

Tell him his 110 clone sucks and send him a picture of one hole in a piece of paper. "That was a 3-shot group from my Savage Axis at 1,000 yards, you need a new rifle bro".

At this point avoid the deal and screw with him, that sounds like more fun.
