Well this is probably my first official SH post. However I have pooped in and out the last six years or so. Projects like a house, cars, etc have always prevented me from building or buying a precision rifle. Somehow during my aimless hours on the internet during this stay at home time I ended up in the Lefty for sale section and purchase a Surgeon 591 lefty action mated to a Krieger 308 win barrel. I then purchased a XLR Element stock that I have always fancied. While on the hunt for a used stock I stumbled upon a barreled V-22 lefty action and somehow ended up purchasing that with Triggertech diamond triggers for both. So now that I have two rifles in the works I need scopes. From what I gather the Vortex AMG would be a good fit for the .308. It’s a little more than I’d prefer to spend but if the expense is worth it, I’m in. I’ve always wanted to purchase something Nightforce so I am trying to make sense of their different models as well. As mentioned sub $2k would be nice. But I am willing to go over if the return is there. I have a hunting rifle so I mainly plan on shooting from a bipod or bench from 100-500 yards. I’d like to eventually try farther but who knows when or where that will happen.
On the V-22 I know I’ll mainly shoot 50-100 yards and sometimes try a little further. Obviously it’s not a basic 1022 so I’d like to get a scope that matches the “caliber” of the action.
Any suggestions for both would be appreciated!
