Instead of picking up a FN SPR, I think I will use the money to upgrade my current Montana 1999 7-08.

It currently is sitting in a Bell and Carlson Medalist Stock, I am thinking of putting it into a Manners MCS-TA. Thoughts? Do you think they will have to inlet it especially for the Montana 1999 action?

I am also considering having it cerakoted. If so, who do you recommend sending it off to?

Would either GAP or SAC be able to do both for me at once?

Lastly, it is currently wearing a Zeiss HD5 3-15 with target turrets. This may get swapped out for the new Steiner once it is released...

Think this is a good route to go? I plan on running 140's for hunting and 160's for targets.

The mods/upgrades you're thinking about are not "accuracy" mods, so I ask: How does the rifle shoot now? Does it perform like you want?

If so, spend money on it. If not, keep it as your hunter and build a target 7mm08. Great chambering, a personal favorite.

Can't help you in regard to the Kimber inletting. My guess is its the same as a winchester/FN. Call Manners and ask.
