My plan was to attempt to get a Savage model 12 Left Hand action. Action only because Savage doesn't offer the rifle with a fluted barrel. I plan on fitting a Stockade Gun Stock to it. I need to know who to contact for my barrel. I would like a 24" heavy fluted barrel, non-stainless. I figured I would stick with the standard 1:12 twist for the .22-250

The reason for the build is that I currently use a model 12 .22-250 for coyotes, bobcats, and prarie dogs but it is a right hand rifle and follow up shots are difficult at best. I also shoot a left hand model 10 .308 and am spoiled to the action on the proper side for me. I'm very invested in .224 bullets, .22-250 brass, and experience with the cartridge so I'd like to stick with it.

I am pretty sure you can call Savage and get a fluted barrel for it. I have a model 12 LRPV in a .223 and it came with a flited barrel. 1" at the muzzle though. Dont know if you want it that heavy.

A buddy of mine got his in a 6br, and it is fluted.
