Building a 260AI on a TAC 30 action w/ 28" Krieger barrel that will tapper down to .750 in a Manners T4A stock. Trying to decide on a brake. I like the Vias brake but don't like the dust it blows up when shooting prone. I have narrowed it down to 2. The Holland radial QD and the Shrewd varmint. Which one has the least percieved noise (I know both are loud) and does one reduce recoil a large amount over the other. I only have experience with Vias and Gentry, both of which have bottom ports. I searced my ass off on the net and can't find a comparison of the Holland and Shrewd. Thanks

Re: Help with muzzle brake decision

Only one taker so far? I know brake discussions are like beating a dead horse, but from all my searches it seems alot of people speak well of the Shrewd Varminter but very few have owned one in the posts I've read. There seems to be alot of satisfied owners of the Holland. I just can't find anyone that has used both. Anyone?

Most likely because what I said would be considered the consensus of the group.

Or you could use the search function

Re: Help with muzzle brake decision

I'm trying to decide on a brake also and everyone keeps telling me to go with the Badger FTE or the Holland, haven't heard much about the Shrewd V. Oh and you really shouldn't beat a dead horse... it gets kinda messy after while

I couldn't be happier and no dirt and leaves blowing up in my face. </div></div>
Thanks for the link. What is it about these brakes that works better?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure if it's better but they're $40, no bottom vents and very well done. Ross shipped it immediately and I had it in three days of my order. I can't really tell any significant difference between this and my Badger on another rifle in performance but the service, delivery, and price can't be beat.
