Well i finally got my Archangel from the group buy, but the damn thing wont come apart, i remember reading about them having to get hot like maybe they used loctite, I tried shooting it, and baking it. no go. Maybe its left hand thread? please help. If it is just loctite I baked it at 500 deg and that should have lossened the toughest loctite I dont want to take a torch to it but that may be my next step.

So, just talked to Templar Tactical and the guy on the phone said its not a take apart suppressor which perplexed me as I believe it was marketed and sold as a take-apart monocore with a tube held on by a nut with orings on each ens to seal it- so it could be cleaned? guy said theres no need to clean it even if shooting lead ammo through it? any feedback from other templar owners would be great.

I also got mine in the group buy but a couple of years ago. Mine was an earlier one and can be taken apart, but I haven't cleaned it... ever. It's seen close to, if not over, 1k rds of 308win/6 Creed/6.5 SAUM. No loss in suppression (that I can tell) and still as light or lighter than my SAS Arbiters. Really no complaints at all.

The above is an interesting take on whether or not to clean a silencer.

Weigh it with an accurate scale before you shoot it so you have a baseline. Just go out and shoot the heck out of it. I don't think they were user serviceable. I've never taken my archangel or ark suppressor apart and I use them a lot.

I own an archangel as well. If I remember correctly, I was in the 2nd shipment, so mine was very early on. It has the really light engraving (I've seen some with heavy engraving, which came later). It was also before they came out with the brake attachment option.....which honestly, I kinda wished mine had....but mine had already shipped before they came out with that.
I almost swear that it was originally advertised as a serviceable suppressor, but I am like you and could never figure out how to take it apart.

That being said, I've never felt the need to do so other than simply for curiosity. I have well over 1,000 rounds through mine and I see no real reason to take it apart. I am very pleased with its performance and it was a steal for just over $600.

I cannot believe that someone is just now getting their group buy suppressor.

There had to be another group buy somewhere. I was near the end of the one 4 years ago. I did get the brake attachment. Took almost 2 years from purchase to my hands. I got 3 (2 Ark and 1 Archangel) and yes they were a steal.

Mine was a early group buy also and I thought it had the ability to be taken apart but never have.

From the box's manual; "The take apart feature is solely intended to remove debris or foreign material(like a stick, mud, large amount of dirt, etc.) that would prevent the safe operation of the suppressor"

While the manual mentions that, there is nothing of how to take it apart.

I've taken mine apart once.......once. My recommendation is to not do it. It's a bitch due to the tight tolerances. And as others have stated, there's really no need to take apart a center fire rifle can.

I took my archangel apart 4 years ago when I first got it. It was tight when it was clean and a bitch to remove the core. Here is a pic if you are curious. Remove the end cap and literally beat out the core.

I am aware a rifle can should not need to be cleaned, but I wanted to start using lead bullets for my 300 blk cause 220grn smk's get kind of expensive, and yes its from the original group buy, I worked part time at the dealer so I got to use it and was waiting for the ATF to bring back form 4 Efile, that it is until 41f.

I only shoot subsonic in 300 blk, and ive seen what 22 does to a suppressor, I was wanting to cast my own as I have a continuing source of lead from a shop I used to work at, buying coated bullets is ok but I'd eventually like to not have to buy them at all, just cast them
