So I just put a timney trigger on my rem700 and when I cycle the bolt the firing pin snaps forward (i.e. to discharge the round). Doesn't always happen, but it is frequent. I will be calling them in the morning, any advice til then?

Re: Here is a Problem..

There are a couple reasons for inadequate sear engagement. The trigger pull screw is turned out too much for not enough spring tension, or the sear engagement screw is not turned in enough.

Note: Timney does not recommend adjusting the pre-set sear engagement screw.

Did you order the trigger new? Did you order it from Timney at a pre-set weight?

Re: Here is a Problem..

I ordered it straight from Timney, and no I did not adjust anything at all. I called them up and they told me to adjust the sear engagement or send it back to them and they will do it for me.
