I was in Harbor Freight today and seen Ceramic Polishing Media, CLICK HERE . The bag has a tumbler on it and I was just wondering if these would work for brass. I mean I know they would but would this be wise or would they risk damaging the brass?

Re: HF Ceramic Polishing Media?

I would say if You don't get every last bit off of Your brass, it would do Your rifle no good. They use ceramic in modern brake pads, and the more aggressive pads will wear out the brake rotor along with the pads. Imagine ceramic particles going down Your bore wit every round You fire.

I wouldn't use it. If you embed ceramic into a soft metal like brass I think it would be a bad idea. When I was racing we had some parts that were made for us like shock brackets, corner brackets and lots of small pieces that were flame cut and then run in huge bins of that stuff. They turned out great but that was steel. I think you just need to go with the tried and true SS media with a TT tumbler. IMHO.
