I have a 114 American classic in 7 mag. I just bought a b&c duramaxx and a heavy bull barrel. Looking at the new stock I'm not so sure my magazine and follower will work. This is for a hunting budget build so the dbm is not really needed. Anybody ever done this conversion?

Re: Hinged floorplate to blind mag

it depends on a few factors... if you have the new centerfeed hinged floor plate then your rifle will just drop into a centerfeed blind mag stock... if you have the old hinged w/ the mag box on the rifle, it SHOULD work fine too, but you have to remove the mag box.... I haven't looked it up for the LAs, but B&C only makes the Duamaxx for staggerfeed SAs... if that's the case for LAs too, then you have a little work to do depending on your rifle.

Savage LA's are all the same screw spacing, so the stock will bolt to the action, it's feeding it you have to worry about, if it were me, I'd have the duramaxx inletted for the hinged floorplate

Re: Hinged floorplate to blind mag

Its a long action stagger feed and the magazine is not attached to the action. The magazine was held in place by the metal floorplate. I thought about cutting a block to the right height, for feeding, and putting it in the magazine well. Then wrapping the mazagine with something or bedding it to keep it from moving.
