I've never reamed a .50 chamber before and I'm curious what some of you that have are using to hold the reamer while feeding it in with the tail stock.
On normal sized reamers I use a lathe dog and hold it with my fingers. Are you guys just using a larger lathe dog with a bit more leverage?
Thanks.

I made up a holder similar to a tap holder. It has a hole in the middle that is the diameter of the reamer shank, uses a set screw to lock the reamer in place and has a handle to hold the reamer from rotating. I suppose you could use a lathe dog as well but with the size of the bmg reamer you will need more leverage to hold on to the thing. Its just like doing any other chamber only bigger so be patient.
