Hey Guys,

Do any of you have homemade powered trimmers? I've been using a drill but I'm contemplating making a base, mount, and setting up a motor with a speed controller and a drill chuck.

What have you done?

I've been using a drill with a removable zip tie on the trigger for locking in the speed. I noticed the drill shaft wobbles...cheap Ryobi drill. I may just end up getting a new drill.

Live gone through the same thing as you. I was using a lee trimmer on a drill. Got boring real fast. I have a rcbs case prep station. Which did everything but trim. So I took the coutter from my lee and put it in my lathe and drilled and tapped it for some all thread the same size as the case prep tools.

Now I clean the primer pockets then use the lee case holder and I trim and chamfer.

When I'm done I'll run the case back through the neck sizer to make sure it's still concentric. Takes 5 seconds and is a nice warm fuzzy feeling

Spend the money on a Giraud and be done with it.I had 500 dollars worth of fun the first time I used mine. I like the fact that your chamfer both inside and out is done at the same time. Stick it in the die and BZZZ... Done. You can do so many in a minute that you are not in a hurry because your trimming will be over in a matter of minutes.
