well i watched some videos on youtube on the scope and have seen some avalible here on the hide. some have said they are junk and some say the glass is good and they rock

so whats the official word on the horus scope

Re: horus vision some say yes some say no

I had one which would not hold zero. When returned, with graphic proof in the form of a failed box test, Horus said they could find no problem with the scope. I got my money back.

I like the Horus reticle, but if you want one, I'd get it in someone else's scope. I did.

That's my experience.

Re: horus vision some say yes some say no

I have the raptor and like it fine. And have had no problems with it. But, I'm not very hard on my equipment. Therefore, I'm holding my breath that it doesn't fail because the warranty sucks. If I had the money, and I just had to have the reticle, I would also put it in someone elses scope. You might want to use the search option. This subject is plentiful.

black_ump,

Not official but...and...

Herein lies the dilemma...........

Glass is fine and appropriate to it's price range. The 3 I've owned are actually clearer than a high $ scope purchase I made recently and just a little less clear than my Nightforce scopes.

Reticles Rock,if you want to use holdovers.MY FAVORITE!

Some of their scopes have tracking issues with their turrets. If you only use the sub-tensions for holdovers,it's not too big of a deal.I've gotten by.The reason I say this is because most of the cheaper scopes I've bought from other brand co's don't track the greatest either, with the exception of SWFA SS.

Your at an advantage buying a new Horus scope in case you have to use their wopping 1 year warranty.

If you can afford a high dollar scope with good warranty, customer service and Horus reticle then you are "set"!

Personally I think they want too much $ for their Falcon but their others are reasonably priced.I like their Predator 8-26x50.I just wish they'd offer it in mil/mil.

Mine have worked fine, but I do not adjust the turrets while in the field. I used the calculated holdover points and it works fine.

The Glass is OK for the money. One think I hate with my Horus scopes (older H3 and H1 reticle models) is that it takes a significant amount of force to move the magnification ring.

Re: horus vision some say yes some say no

I have one on my whisper 300. I use it stricktly for holdover, but since there is no recoil I hav'nt had any problems. DKSD39 just sold a couple with no problems but is moving up to higher end scopes. If you want one and can hold out, I'm sure one will come available here on the hide. Good luck.

Re: horus vision some say yes some say no

I have used the Horus Talon on a couple AR platforms. The reticle is great. As has been said, adjusting the power ring is difficult and I was unable to find a cattail for this platform. Nice scope, never lost zero, great glass. I had no interaction with customer service, having purchased both of mine used. Selling one right now as I am going back to a RDS on that rifle.

Re: horus vision some say yes some say no

I have the Hawk on a LR308, and so far it's been good to go. Glass is good - I could see shot holes from a friends 270 at 350 yards; and as others have said, the power ring is a bit stiff. Mine has always returned to zero, and I've cranked them a bit developing handloads over the last year, although I haven't been able to dial a lot of clicks on it for long range. The holdovers work great though.

I'm happy with mine.
