Hello, i´m from germany and i´m new to this board. Please excuse my poor english, i´m working on it... I would like to mount a bipod to my hunting rifle. It is a Heym SR21 with a synthetic stock. The common solutions i saw on the internet like a picatinny rail or a swivel mount (Harris) are not what i`m looking for. In my opinion the best solution is a detachable spigot at the front end of the stock. Unfortunately the Heym-Stock is very thin at the end, so there is not much "meat". I atached a pic of this area and hope for your suggestions. To ask a local dealer is no option, the knowledge about bipods is very limited an the esthetic factor of the work would be the other problem. I think i have to fix it by myself. A milling machine an a lathe is not a problem, so I can make some specialparts if needed. Another question...is it true, that such a synthetic stock is made of a very weak core and a thin layer of epoxi? Thank you in advance Tom

Hey, thank you for your reply!

Today I found the javelin bipod and the gunsmith adapter. This could be a solution I'm looking for. If the bipod isn't mounted the stock looks nearly original...
Did anyone test the javelin? Is its accuracy comparable to harris or Neopod? If my rifle were a rem700 with thousands of aftermarket stocks I wouldn't ask that much, but for this rifle I can't buy a spare stock. Even by the manufacturer of the rifle.

Thank you!

Tom

What are your intentions with this rifle? That appears to be a lighter weight hunting rifle - throwing a spigot and bipod on it doesn't make much sense, kind of like putting a snow plow on a Cadillac convertible car. If you're trying to hunt with it, great, use shooting sticks. If you're looking to shoot PRS, you're going to need a different rifle.
