Rifle Scopes How close is too close?

I’ve heard of barrel whip hitting scopes. ? Too close or ok?:

When you can't get a single sheet of printing papper through it's too close. That seems more than fine.

Meh. I’m used to cerakote. Wouldn’t think stuff would rust in a safe with golden rod.

i read an article in one of the gun magazines not all that long ago that they suggest somewhat forcibly and quickly pushing up hard on the stock to confirm that the stock does not flex enough to contact the barrel

i guess there are 2 other considerations.....does it fit your natural point of aim without stress....and can you use your scope cover.

Scope bell to barrel is more than fine. How close is the objective to the rail itself?

Probably fine, just shoot it some and check for rub marks in there.

Looks good. Fire away! The only time I’ve had one too close( and I mount them tight!) was on my 460 S&W pistol with a vx3 pistol scope. That thing really flexes!

You should be fine the only time I've had any issue was with a light weight 300wm running 200 plus grain bullets with a 30mm longish scope that I believe was making contact during recoil.
