How do I opt out of all snipershide email marketing?

How do I opt out of all snipershide email marketing?

I don't see any option in any of the settings or profile screens.

I've been a member of the Hide for MANY years now and I could count the number of times I have been e-mailed by the owner/operator for "marketing" purposes (like the sale of the HIDE AR receivers late last year as one example) on one hand. I'm not sure what "email marketing" you are referring to, but it is likely something on your end of things and not something you can "opt" out of. Like milo suggested, if your e-mail is publicly available/open, I'd remove it. Other than that...a little more info on what, specifically, you are being "marketed" might help this along or at least get you moving in the right direction.

Im with ORD though, I think i've only received like MAYBE 2 or 3 emails during my entire membership...

You can choose to receive no emails at all if you like, though I, like the others am interested in which email marketing you are talking about, as I have received exactly one marketing email that I can recall in about 1-1/2 years.

you mean vcard? it's always been set to 'Don't allow vCard download'

Receive Email from Administrators -> disabled
Receive Email from Other Members -> disabled
Receive Friendship Request Email -> disabled

Visitor messaging -> off

What else do I have to do to prevent marketing companies from sending email to my snipershide email address?

I don't recall ever receiving email marketing from this site, or any business affiliated with them.
I do get regular emails from related businesses, such as OpticsPlanet and SWFA, but that is because I have made purchases from them and opted in for their email promotions.

Try deleting your email address??? Don't list it.

deleting my email address from where? i don't see it listed anywhere.

the email address i use for this (and every other forum) is a custom one-off email address, so when someone sends email to it i know exactly where they got the address from.

i've never published this address anywhere, or shared this address with anyone. it was only ever used to register with snipershide forums.

Why don't you send Lowlight a PM or e-mail and see if there is something specific that you can do re: the e-mails if you have specifically indicated that you don't want to be e-mailed through the site, etc., and you are still receiving them. Generally speaking, at least in the e-mails I have received from the Hide, including the Area53/Hide Online store/MyCustomEvents.com/etc., all have had a REMOVE/UNSUBSCRIBE option in the body of the e-mail, but I don't currently have any stored that I can refer you a link, etc. You might try that as well. As for the "relationship" between the Hide and the MyCustomEvent stuff...I believe (don't quote me on this) that is the company that operates/setup/runs the payment gateway/etc. for the "Shop Sniper's Hide" online store seen here: http://snipershide.mycustomevent.com/ To the best of my knowledge...Area53 is just one of many companies that the Hide has teamed up with to offer special products/services through the online store to the membership here and the masses (should any non-members happen upon the store).

Frankly...I'm not sure what the big deal is about an occasional e-mail offering a specific product related to the Hide or why you seem to have your shorts all in a twist about it. It isn't as if those e-mails are some sort of constant, daily (or multiple times daily) source of spamming, irritation, etc., unless I'm just not getting any of them nowadays (as I said...I don't think I have received more than 3-4 total e-mails in the last 8-9yrs for "marketing" purposes).

Seriously...just get with LL and ask him what he can do to assist if it is that big a deal.

Clearly, there is an unsubscribe button at the bottom of the email, and we did not send that out.

We emailed about the SH branded lower, and those too had and unsubscribe button. If you did not unsubscribe they followed it up as most do. You have the control to opt out it's staring you in the face.

Can you not see where it says unsubscribe in your own friggin quote above.

People are drama queens.

i unsubscribed from area53, the filter ensures i don't have to unsubscribe from any other marketing by making it not possible.

i've caught enough companies selling email lists, i don't trust them. Roland Corporation for example sold their list to drug spammers.
