Gunsmithing How do you attach a bipod to RR LAR 8 A4

I purchased a Rock River LAR 8 standard A4 and want to attach a bipod. There is no swivel stud. I was told to drill into the hand guard and install a swivel stud, but I am not sure there is enough metal, or exactly how to do it. etc.

Has anyone attached a bipod to this gun? Any thoughts or ideas?

Which handguard do you have??

The RRA LAR-8 "standard A4" comes stock with the typical USGI A2 vented hanguards pictured here:

If you do have the handguards pictured in the link above, then it is a quick, simple, and relatively cheap fix. Order one of these (see link below), drop the bottom half of the HG, install it, reinstall the HG and attach your Harris bipod as normal.

If you have something different, then knowing which specific HG you've got will help to find you a good mounting solution. Just post the details on the HG or a pic and we can go from there.
