Been looking for this, no luck finding. So the BT-69 has a height of 6"-12.25" according to Atlas. Is the low end of height what you get with legs collapsed in vertical position? Or is that the minimum height with collapsed legs at 45 degrees? Thanks.

Their min spec includes the legs at 45 degrees forward.

I was thinking I could do the CAL tall based on that, but when I realized that it was 45 degrees forward I knew it would be too tall for me at the minimum vertical height. I ended up getting the standard CAL and really like it.

Thanks, that helps. I have a height conundrum also. My only experience is with Harris, and it seems the sweet spot for me is somewhere around a Harris 9-13 on its minimum setting, or a 6-9 Harris fully extended.

I went to the 9-13 to get away from always having my 6-9 harris fully extended because it leaves me no additional upward movement to account for terrain, soft ground, etc. Harris feet like to spin and walk forward, so I added KNS snapfoot adapters to it so I could use talons when preferred, and the adapters added 0.5" to 1.3" to the height depending on which foot I use. Now the 9-13 feels too tall. I can make it work, but its stretching it, which probably isn't good fundementals.

So I'm banging my head on the desk trying to decided if I should purchase another 6-9 and add the KNS system to make it taller, cut the legs on my 9-13 to make it shorter, or just bail out and buy an Atlas. If their spec was for vertical legs, the decision would have been made.

I run RRS clamps on both my Harris 6-9 and the Atlas standard CAL. My Atlas is about 1" taller than my Harris at max extension.

You can also easily add extensions to the Atlas legs, either the factory option or there are easy DIY options (wood dowel). I went with wood dowel since I already had some laying around. Just 1/2 round oak dowel, cut to about 6-7" long, pointed on one end and sanded slightly for a snug fit in the Atlas foot receiver. That length picks up at about where the tall range leaves off and goes as tall as I'd ever need. Lightweight, extremely solid/tight fit, and cheap.

I just got an Atlas Cal for a new build after only using Harris. Mine are mounted differently so it's hard to make a direct comparison, but I think the standard Cal will be the perfect height range for prone shooting.

It will also depend on how other people are mounting there's. My cal is on a spigot mount on an mpa chassis. Harris is on a stud in a bergara hmr chassis.

I also almost went with a cal tall because of the way they list the height range.
