I recently purchased a "contract USMC BARREL" never have heard of them untill I purchased this one off a buddy building an M40A1 clone. Ive always used Douglas or Hart. Any feed back would be great by the way also bought all parts for m40A1 build too! Sweet lookin rig

Re: How good are the Schneider barrels accuracy?

I plan on using one for my next build. The barrel life on them crazy. And if the Marines are using them then they got to be good. I just need to find out if I can get it threaded and short chambered from them or not.

Re: How good are the Schneider barrels accuracy?

I pick up my customized Rem 700 with M40 profile .308 Schneider next week. I'll let you know how she shoots when I do but I've heard nothing but good things.

Re: How good are the Schneider barrels accuracy?

As a former scout sniper I vouch for the accuracy of these barrels. Used about 5 personally and seen first hand a couple dozen engage man sized targets accurately and consistently from inside 100 yds to just past 1200. 11000 rounds is about the max for the barrel life.

This one shoots pretty good...

Re: How good are the Schneider barrels accuracy?

I've abused the shit out of my Schneider M40 barrel and it's still going strong. Rarely gets cleaned, frequently run too hot to touch and it's still near half MOA after more than 3K rounds.

When Randy (R&D Precision) built my rifle he told me that the barrel was the straightest and most concentric barrel he had ever worked with. I'll definitely buy Schneider again.

Now that I've researched apparently it doesn't take him long to get barrel to u like other companies and I have yet to find any negatives about Schneider. Barrels

I got a Schneider 300 win mag with polygonal rifling and would love to see 5k rds. Cleaning secrets?

Your gunsmith "makes it" for whatever action you have. what you get from Schneider or any barrel maker is a blank, with the bore and rifling only. Your gunsmith chambers, headspaces and does the remainder of work.

No matter how good the barrel is, if the gunsmith hoses his job, it won't matter.

Then I'll probably go with Shilen or another brand who make prefited barrels for Savage so I won't need a gunsmith.
