Also spare parts are better thrown in the trash than sitting around. I once had to buy a new rifle because I had an extra suppressor mount laying around.

Recently made a trade for a stock I liked. Good stocks require a nice action. New Bighorn Origin on the way. 
I really thought that this question was going in another direction, so:
A friend of mine asked me "If you put on another guy's underwear and get a Woodie, is that wrong?".

I have started rifle builds because I got a stock at a good price, a magazine for a good price, ammo in a caliber I didn't already have, a barrel or bolt...you name it.

Someone on another forum said he was having a hard time finding a stock for a certain build.
I told him I recently saw something on Ebay that would help him out "Hold on while I find the link...."
I ended up seeing a different stock I liked and lo and behold that begat me buying an action, which begat me ordering a Bartlein, which begat me ordering a scope base and stock pack which begat me sending everything to LRI which will begat me paying for gunsmithing services and bottom metal.
So yes things can snowball and begat you an empty wallet pretty fast.

Dude...I have swept my garage floor, found a single part and said, "guess I need to finish this project" and build a new rifle. SOBER....
