My dad gave these to me tonight. He said he got them at an auction a couple years ago thinking he would buy a 308 rifle and never did.
I haven't ever seen any ammo in paper holders, let alone for that price. If a guy could only reach back in time to snag them at that labeled price!

I'm sure all 25 rounds will shoot just fine. I'm curious to see if anyone knows the age of it.

I would guess that it was new sometime in the 70's. It looks good and clean, like it was stored in a controlled environment and should shoot fine. Federal brass of that age was better than the current stuff, in my experience. Lightman

I remember seeing the paper holders and the boxes in the mid to late 70's but i dont think it was that cheap.

if it's 70's it's early 70's. By 75 the carton didn't have black on it, it was red and white, and they started with the red plastic holders, orange ones followed.

I bought a bunch of ammo from a dealer that was going out of business in the early to mid 1980s. All the Federal was in red & black boxes as well.

You may have bought it then, but by mid seventies, they had adopted plastic holders.

So early to mid 70's seems to be the time range.

Thanks guys!

20 cartridges for 5 bucks? Cursed inflation....and china too, for sucking up all the raw metals.
