I was cleaning one of my AR's yesterday and noticed the spacer on the back of the Larue rail was worn on one side in a wierd way and I cant figure out how the hell it got this way.
Maybe someone else can.
I am having no firing/functioning problems with it and no movement with the rail itself. The rifle will hold sub-moa also.
I just cant figure this out. When you touch the visible worn piece you cant move it at all, so nothing is loose.
?????

If you notice on the pics below the first 2 pics taken on the left side of the reciever are what the spacer is supposed to look like, the bottom 2 pics are the right side of the reciever were the spacer is worn in an odd straight angle type way. WTF?

Are you sure it is worn. It looks like it could be made that way so you can adjust it to ensure that it is centered on various barrels and reciverers. Just a guess as I do not own one.

That's the halfmoon lock ring on a Larue handguard. They are NOT machined the same on left and right halves.Like the previous poster said, that's so they can "wedge" on various uppers....you're GTG no problem.

Thanks, I must have not noticed it while I was installing it.

I heard they make the modified spacers to fit the Vltor MUR1 upper. Im sure its nothing anybody can do with a Dremel and 5mins of their time tho.
