This question is not referring to torque specs. What I'm curious on is having your bottom metal fit tight or loose in the stock a good or bad thing? I have an axial precision stock for a build I'm working on. My bottom metal fits very snug into the inlet. Is that pressure a bad thing? Should it fit looser?

I don't know how it should fit, I just know how I like for mine to fit.

I bed mine because I can't get the fit I want with my inletting tools. I wrap the metal with masking tape. The masking tape I use is about .004" - .0045" thick. I don't like the surface texture of masking tape so after I get the metal wrapped I use a pan of soapy water and some wet and dry sandpaper and sand the tape until the ruffles are gone from the surface. I don't know exactly how thick that leaves the tape but I'm guessing in the .002"- .003" range.
