Got a Thompson Center Encore. One of my barrles has some surface rust on it. When I wipe rust off it leaves a spot,or blemish. Is there anyway to clean this up to nice bright original look.

youre going to need to use some polish like Flitz to "buff" it off, you may be left with a dissimilar finish (shinier) afterwards and need to do the whole barrel. McGuires #50 cleaner wax has an additive in it that will remove light rust and is common in polishing marine metals, look for Collonites metal wax as well
Im assuming were talking about EXTERRIOR finishes here, dont be putting this stuff in the barrel...

If you know anyone with an ultrasonic cleaner, I cleaned a stainless action in one of these units and it came out looking great. Note that Flitz or other polishes will change the appearance and shine it up. I know because I did it!
