I am looking to get the best performance from my 16 in gas gun. I have a RRA 16 1x10 twist gun. It shoots 168smks over 43.8 gr varget like a house a fire at 100. Dime size groups. I have not had the chance to shoot it any farther but, I know it is going to be a struggle to go past 700ish. I want to be able to go further. I have read where if you dont take 155 scenars to 2900 they are not advantagous. Not sure if this is true or not. I would rather shoot 155s but if 175s or 178 hpbt from hornady are what is needed then that is fine as well. Thoughts on this? I would like to make this my match gun. The truth is however if I cleaned every target from 0-700 I am pretty sure I would be ok in about any match, so maybe I should leave well enough alone.
thoughts,
T

Last I heard, most projectiles for a 16 in. "gun" weighted around a ton. Lots of recoil in something like that but they can hit a truck out to maybe 20 miles if they got some good wind flags!
