I am trying to get my howa 30-06 with a wood stock set up for some long range shooting ,i installed some 20 MOA bases and tactical scope+ rings so far.
This rifle has always shot under an inch at 100yds but i have never used a torque wrench on the screws ,just hand tight on them. Whats a good torque spec to use on this rifle with a wooden stock,i would guess 25-35 in.lb.

Re: Howa 1500 action torque specs

Im sure someone else will chime in. If it shoots good at 25-35 in lbs I'd tell you to roll with it. I torq all my piliar bedded stuff to 45-50 in lbs.

I just pillar bedded a ruger for a friend, it hovered around 1 inch @ 100. after bedding it now shoots .5 inch or better. Wood will compress over time and your zero can shift around and be inconsistent.
