HOWA - 1500 BARRELED ACTION LW CERAKOTE GRAY .223 REM #1 for fist Bolt Gun

I want to start off with a 223 and Im thinking of going with the Howa 1500. Seem like a good idea? I have been watching the for sale section for a good 223 for sale but I havent seen anything latley. Just want an accurate 223 that I can shoot 3-400 yards and practice.

I am happy with mine, 24" varmint barrel in a Bell & Carlson Target/Competition stock. I still have the internal mag but used it in a few local comps, just added a 10 round holder to the butt and single loaded when I had to

is your the 223?

That would be fine if you’re wanting to swing it around fast coyote hunting or something but I would rather get one of the heavy barrel models if you are wanting to shoot it a lot. The light barrel will get too hot too fast for lots of shooting.

Ok I will get a heavy barrell...do you know what the #1, #2, #6 means? if so what do you recommend ?

figured that out! its the barrel so Im guessing yours is the #6. Thanks for the help on that..btw I found yours on another thread and its incredible
