HOWA 6.5 or 6mm

Anyone have any experience with these? They seem like a good entry price to get into PRS and or Long range shooting, however I am looking at a Tikka too, heavy barrel or CTR.
Any help with this would be great. I am a newbi getting into PRS and Long range comp shooting. Thanks

Get you a howa barreled action from Brownells. The 6.5 has better barrel life and the 6 has a little better ballistics. I’d say get the 6.5. Heavy barreled action, krg bravo stock, and call it a day. Take the money you save by not buying a Tikka ctr and buy you a viper pst or Athlon Midas TAC

I have to agree with jc, even academy carries the howa in the krg bravo for 1100 and the hcr for 1300 fully loaded on both with scopes, brakes, but the hcr comes with a bipod if that makes a difference to ya

I thought those prices were good too. The 6.5 will probably last twice as long so the little extra is worth it IMO. You already having the stock you want kind makes it like a sore dick, you just can’t beat it. I think the Tikka ctr is around $1800. You’ll have less than $600 in the howa and the savings could get you a damn decent scope, especially if you get one from the px.
