I'm thinking about having a Howa 1500 30-06 rebored to 9.3x62. Then chop and thread it. Thoughts? Has anyone done something like this?

My brother had a barrel rebored by them. They did fine work and the rifle shoots pretty well.
I think they may have squared his action face as well.
Not sure what they are charging, but you can get a preferred barrel blanks howage barrel chambered in 9.3x62 for 525 bucks

ok, not sure why you would go with a re-bore vs re-barrel. The ONLY time I would consider it was to preserve a historic barrel for a rifle. For this I would just get it rebarreled with a proven modern barrel.
Yeah I might, there's just not much to chose from for that round on a new barrel.
sounds like you need an excuse to buy another rifle. This would be an interesting option. Chambered in what you want and already chopped and threaded.
