HS Precision stock question..

I am looking at this stock: H-S Precision Pro-Series 2000 Savage 10FP 12 Target Varmint Tactical Single Shot & Repeater Stocks PSV 102 106 118

The intended purpose would be hunting/tactical. A 16.5" .308 Savage 10 will be going in it. Is this a decent stock? Work well for the prone position? Should I spend $160 more and get a manners t? Wanna hear your thoughts! Thank you!

Ben, this is essentially the original stock the 12 LRP's shipped with less the DBM system. Unless you need it right now, I'd order the Manners and go with the PTG Stealth DBM. Yes the Manner's is worth the price difference and wait IMO. I have two Savages and one is in the HS stock the other in a Manners T2. I'm building a 3rd Savage and it is going in a Manner's T2 as well.

I've only had it about a month, but so far I like it quite a bit! I don't hunt anymore but IIRC the T2 weights about 2.5lbs (40oz) versus the Elite Hunter which weight 1.75lbs (28oz). What's the old saying: "Ounces equals pounds and pounds equal pain" when hiking?

I know I am very very tempted to go with that elite hunter stock. I just don't want to wait so long. I am quite impatient, I have found the T and T2 for sale now.

T might be best of all hunting and 16" 308. That and HS 5r / varmint types.

I think I'd agree, I really do like the looks of the T2, but the T is pretty impressive as well!

Handles better than it looks. Both do. Hunting and fast, okward, improvised position shooting, I much prefer these. I guess that is the reason for them.

Ben, speaking for my self, I do not care for the vertical grip stocks. They are for me best suited for specific position shooting. I shoot with folks who like them.
The HS line, I have a couple, and a T , These are my cup of tea. Best for positions that arise, Offhand, and brace / barricade. I have always used an 'American Straight comb Stock. That is why.

I have a T4 on my CZ 455 and I like it alot, just trying to save a little weight with this build. I figure I will either go with the T stock or wait for an elite hunter.
