Has anyone put their kestral in their safe to determine humidity? I just put mine in and it was at 51.5% roughly. That seems a bit high to me, even though I have plenty of desiccant in there. What does everyone else have in their safe?

50% RH isn't too bad. Is the safe inside your house or in a garage or eterior building that isn't temperature controlled? If not in the house then dependent on the temperature range you would want to go lower than 50%RH. Also how well sealed is your safe? That will determine how easy or hard it is going to be to maintain the desired %RH.

We don't have near that humidity here in Wyoming. 36% seems pretty high here, have never measured in the safe though.

use one of those hot electric rods. Don't have to worry about the particulars after that.

If you don't have power in your safe you could also use the moisture eliminators from Dollar Tree. They will last between 1 and 2 months. A years supply wouldn't cost more than $12.
