Has anyone put their kestral in their safe to determine humidity? I just put mine in and it was at 51.5% roughly. That seems a bit high to me, even though I have plenty of desiccant in there. What does everyone else have in their safe?
50% RH isn't too bad. Is the safe inside your house or in a garage or eterior building that isn't temperature controlled? If not in the house then dependent on the temperature range you would want to go lower than 50%RH. Also how well sealed is your safe? That will determine how easy or hard it is going to be to maintain the desired %RH.
If you don't have power in your safe you could also use the moisture eliminators from Dollar Tree. They will last between 1 and 2 months. A years supply wouldn't cost more than $12. http://reviews.dollartree.com/0550/15869/reviews.htm
