Just sharing some pictures of the latest build that I completed. This is for Hunter223. Besides 1/2 MOA or better accuracy, the focus was to build a lighter tactical rifle. This Manners and the Surgeon proved much lighter than his previous Badger M2008 build with Terry Cross hardware in the MCS-T4A. Here are the specs.

Surgeon 591 Short Action
Bartlein 1-8.5" 5R Barrel chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor
Threaded for 5/8 x 24 with custom thread protector
Manners MCS-T4 (painted by Mike Palma, another hide member. Mike did a great job with this digial camo)
Standard Bottom metal
Pillar bedded with Marine Tex
Barreled action is painted OD Green Cerakote with Graphite Black contrast.

Awesome rifle mark, fit and finish look great!! Curious what did the overall weight come out to, since your trying to make a light Tactical rifle?

Re: Hunters 2nd SAC 6.5 Creedmoor, Surgeon, Manners

If light weight was a concern, then why was such a heavy barrel used? In a short action non magnum caliber there is no reason to go bigger than a Medium Palma...

It's what was readily available. Thanks Mark! Thanks Mike! Can't wait to get this puppy out shooting.

I will have to check my notes on the exact fill for the Manners stock, but its noticeably lighter than most Manners I build off of. The Barrel was a #7, which is a bit heavy but again, lighter than the previous build that I did for him.

What I should have posted is he was looking for something lighter than his last build....heavy bastard!

Re: Hunters 2nd SAC 6.5 Creedmoor, Surgeon, Manners

the new stock is the Carbon Fiber fill and a #7 bartlien barrel. yep my 2nd SAC creedmoor. Mark's work is easily as good as if not a good bit better than a VERY popular smith on this site. The rifle built for me shot almost TWICE as well as the other rifle too, so Im sure this one will shoot lights out also.

Hey everyone!!

I apologize to Mark for making stupid comments.

He does great work and commenting about how good looking he is, is just lame on my part.

Sorry, Mark!

Take care,
-Mike
