After a couple years of faithful service, its time to think about buying a new hydration bladder. This year, I bought one of the updated Tac Ops drag bags (great gear by the way, an excellent choice if you are looking for one) and am interested in optimizing my choice of a replacement for the bag.

Looking to harvest the experience and diversity of gear here. Anyone have some good suggestions for hydration bladders that worked well with a tac ops bag?

Why would you put your bladder in a drag bag? You'd have to have the hose stowed, toom and it wouldn't be nice and handly right there on your back when you wanted a drink. There'd be a lot of extra moving around trying to pull your drag bag up between your legs everytime you needed to drink...

... Or am I missing something completely?

The design of the tac ops bag actually allows it to act as a back pack as well if I have hiking to do, has a bladder, etc.

Given that most of my use case is actually using it as a back pack or shoulder bag to get to a hunting perch or using it as intended when shooting bench rest or prone at the range, in either scenario, having a single bag that has my water supply and everything else seems like a good idea to me, particularly when it has been designed for the purpose with an insulated pocket.

Depends on how you're using your drag bag. If you're trekking across the prairie to a dog town or a hiking away from your vehicle, it would be handy to have the bladder in the drag bag, one less thing to sling over your shoulder and a bit less cumbersome than a Nalgene bottle banging around.

Just pick up a Camelback bladder that's the same size as your present one.

Alright, I'm tracking now.
I second the Camelbak. The fancy types with quick release type buttons that seal with o-rings usually leak, the ribbed plastic fitting with the tube that slides over won't leak- just don't pull it off. I usually put a bit of shoe goo or epoxy around it and make it permanent. My unit just bought a whole bunch of the fancy push button QD types from some fancy new tactical company- everyone ditched em after the first month and went back to their Camelbaks.
