The deep state uniparty has a stranglehold on the two party illusion of choice presented to us people. The way campaign finance laws are structured pretty much keeps a third party out of enough money to get their message heard.
The way to right the current ship is to get enough outsider liberty minded people placed into the republican ranks. Just look how the democrat party got hijacked from the so called working class party in the 50s and 60s into the socialist extreme that it is now. It was hijacked by radicals over time.
The republican party needs to be hijacked by liberty minded folks. This starts in the primaries. Only voting on election day and ignoring the primaries guarantees the uniparty stays in control.
Trump is a good start to the process. He is an outsider that both sides of the deep state hate.
Elon should leave the scorched earth 3rd party idea alone and concentrate on winning primaries with liberty minded people for the republican party.

More along these lines. A third party could make a difference locally and in Congress. Plus, the only way a party will survive and be viable is if it can successfully get candidates elected that actually stand for the party. Even if there’s traction, the standard uniparty strategy is to temporarily placate and assimilate a third party. It’s happened numerous times.
the 2 party system is irrevocably corrupt. having just 2 leads to the clown show in congress and the partisan judicial BS. if a 3rd party gained enough backing to put in about 6-10 senators and 100 or so reps,it might have something. similar to the system in Europe. and yes,that has its own problem set. the history of 3rd parties is as said above. Nader,Perot,TR all gave us poor outcomes. TR the worst. since the dims and reps always produce candidates that have no biz in power,many are willing to vote 3rd party. the story of the libertarian party is about the same. tends to pull votes that would go Rep in its absence. of course,getting a rep pres is never a very good outcome. This assumes one considers cast votes to be tallied votes, of course.
It may take folks a few years more, but I would hope that people are starting to see that the mechanisms of significant elections (meaning all Fed, almost all State, and surely big cities as well) as of 2025 are not to be trusted without a whole lot of inspections, and it has been this way ever since SCOTUS was asked to decide the "hanging chad" situation in its Bush v Gore decision.
Given how political financing is designed as pay to play , Musk does not need a third party to very effectively fuck with both parties .

I don’t disagree, but I believe it should accurately be changed to, It’s the most common ploy used to control a government. It’s been used since people started gathering in one place. Before billionaires it was millionaires, before millionaires it was those with the most money , before then there were always ways to get what you wanted that didn’t require you to strong-arm those in power.

Space exploration can never be driven just by governments unless it’s part of a larger war effort. Private enterprise and profit are what drive anything, including colonization.
