I am liking Denmark tonight.

Alcatraz is an island..... the only thing better that one could hope for, is one of them "sinking/flipping/turning-overing" islands that ya'll have, someplace in the Pacific.

Airplanes are makin' em lopsided, or something????

I live in denmark and most of it is just a show for the camera, there is still a ferry route to the island and they are not confined there they are just required too spend the night on the island .
That just means they go out and steal and disapear before they are shipped out, just as they have done in the other outbound centres they have tried here in denmark .
This has become a pussynation , there is pretty much no vikings left and definetly not in politics .
Sorry for any bad spelling but viking is my main language ?

I gotta ask, how would you think the process should be taken?

And you know, I'm asking respectfully. They are their own State, with their own Laws, and such.

By that token, is it in the same ballpark to rake (or not rake) Saudi Arabia, et al., over the coals for their intolerance towards anything but Sunni Islam?

Thanks for posting from "behind the lines" so to speak.

I do agree with you. Correct me if I'm wrong, but historically, Saudi Arabia WAS both, in the past. But the "House of Saud" is wanting to change things, where it's "them and only them".....

That'd be different, no? And yes, if there's all these 'refugees' everywhere, (that happen to be muslim) coming from everywhere,,,, why aren't they being taken in by all these countrys whom are sorta 'muslim' too? As opposed to 'expelled'?

I'd love to know your thoughts on this article: https://slate.com/human-interest/20...to-right-nationalist-xenophobic-populism.html

:mad::mad:

Okay you kicked my hope in the dick a little. :(:( Although without researching at all I was pretty sure they were anti-any-weapon. I mean it still is Europe after all.

Sorry, bud. Didn't mean to dick-stomp. I just think that they need to fine tune things a bit. Lots of reactionary vicissitude there after too long getting humped hard by illegals riding the system like a mechanical bull at Gilley's.

Oh I don't mind. Like when I posted about the frame issues in the Toyota thread. You have to keep it real, can't let heads get to big. Was thinking when I did the OP "still isn't USA" and I guess I was right. As much as we bitch, still tough to beat America.

All good people agree,
And all good people say,
All nice people, like Us, are We
And everyone else is They:
But if you cross over the sea,
Instead of over the way,
You may end by (think of it!) looking on We
As only a sort of They!

—Rudyard Kipling

Holy Christ, my unsolicited thought is that the above article brings to the fore the degree of cultural schizophrenia that much of Europe (and more of the US with each passing day) is laden with. The levels of madness woven through those paragraphs is so dizzying that I can comment on only one of them (at this hour and being only a few sips into a cup of Murdered Out) - the insatiable need to weave and enforce a collective identity. Any acknowledged difference is cast as racism, zenophobia, and any all of the other labels spewing from NPC phrase generator.

The Sikh denied his kirpan (in the article referenced by Veer 1) was clearly not sufficiently reduced to fit into the dogmatic narrative of what Denmark should be. Sikhs, Alawites, Christians... all must be sanitized into the singular hygenic narrative. I find a dark humor in this as the promoters of Denmark's identity call out the virtue of it being amongst the cleanliest of countries.

Problem is, people don't work that way. That's not me talking, that is history. The sheer weight of just western civ and all of its reformations, revolutions, tribal warfare, and blood lettings should inform Europe's current inhabitants the risks and likely outcomes involved in penning together (maybe forcing together is more accurate) so many cultures.

Mr Kipling makes an excellent point. I think there is much to be said for the idea that most people have more in common than they have differences. To deny this is to deny humanity, IMHO. However, to deny the differences is an equal offence. For some, this is merely acknowledging individuals and cultures for who they are. For much of the left it represents a tension that threatens their world view to the extent that they either change everyone who doesn't fit the narrative or simply curl up into their little ball of hygge.

To properly appreciate Kipling's little poem requires knowing who the Us is and who the They is. The progressive prefers to grind everyone into a fine dust to the point each grain is not only indistinguishable, but is stripped of its ability to distinguish itself. The "it" is quite on purpose.

I guess we'll see how all this works itself out.

Ok i tried too read my way thru that article . And there are some thruths in there thats for sure , many if not most danes are to a part conflict shy and will keep voting the same political party they have always voted.
Even when politicians keep doing just the opposite of what they promised when they got elected .
The so called right wing party in denmark is called “dansk folkeparti” i even voted for that party once, and they sold out on a bill regarding law on knifes. Boy was i pissed ?.
On the point of calling them right wing i gotta say bullshit , they come of as hard on criminal imigrants . But they are nothing more than socialist , right now they have the opportunity to stop the goverment from signing this crap FN Migrant pact , but they all cling to their seats instead fighting for the danish people .
I have been to the states 3 times now and our countries are very different , you might not have “hygge” over there but i have always feelt welcome when i have visited the US and to some extend i feel more at home in the US .

Thanks for the link w/ explanation, Greg. I've been looking for a hooga for years, or was that a hookah? I can't remember either way, and besides.... I had one once but the wheels fell off! :D

And a Merry Christmas, to All.

Sounds like the same games played by our politicians, and the same conclusions many have come to.
