If you pull out an airsoft gun to threaten someone, well sorry but you might just get someone pointing a real one at you.
I mean ask your local police what they do if someone points something that looks like a weapon at them...
Well get prepared, because going to be a few more coming up eventually with this new Byrna Chem/kinetic round 'PISTOL' national advertisement campaign launched across TV, Radio, internet . Some fucker will dig and fumble to pull out his plastic Co2 Chem. pistol, and sure as shit will get a response with actual real return fire.
You can advertise labeling your plastic pistol as a 'Launcher', but reality is it still a Pistol when it is pulled out and getting pointed straight at you .

Totally valid point though the victim apparently wasn’t pointing the still holstered airsoft pistol at the perp. Not that I would wait for someone to do so either. This particular case was most certainly an attack provoked by the actual perp.I'm sure a few heel clicking ADAs will be trying to charge folks who shoot people that point those at them.
Right up until the police do it a few times and then everyone has to agree, you pretend to have a gun, get treated like you have a gun.
Yeah, there was some hand wringing on the issue of "who pulled/who pulled first ?". The Prosecuting Attorney basically called bullshit and said that the shooter was the one that initiated the conflict in the first place and has no right to claim self defense after the fact, toy gun/real gun or not.Totally valid point though the victim apparently wasn’t pointing the still holstered airsoft pistol at the perp. But, as you say, pull a toy/play/fake gun and expect to be treated as if it’s real.

I tend to agree with the PA and besides, shooting anyone in a wheelchair is just lower than a snake's pecker. Particularly after the shooter was the one that initiated the conflict, which he clearly was. And, over something as non-life threatening as possible "stolen valor". In reality, the shooter was/is a moron.
This is (very liberal) seattle. The shooter will be convicted and will serve a long prison sentence. I'm OK with that.
A holster doesn’t magically make the gun not point at you, and some holsters are designed to be able to allow you to fire while holstered. I’m not waiting to find out which you have or if your guns airsoftTotally valid point though the victim apparently wasn’t pointing the still holstered airsoft pistol at the perp. If you are having a verbal disagreement regardless of who started it, if someone pulls out what looks to be a deadly weapon, well they should think through how that will go down.
Being in a wheelchair doesn't give you any pass if you pull out what appears to be a deadly weapon, just ask the police and all the rest of the folks who justify when the police do it.
You don’t have to tell your kids anything or make up a story if you have a problem telling kids something exists. There’s no gun to your head forcing you hand not to say “it’s just a skunk” or “I don’t know” if they ask.Too bad, the Seattle waterfront is really beautiful. My mom grew up on Capitol Hill (born 1946). She talks of a time where kids could run around and play 'til dark without any safety worries. I don't think it's the same place now. On the waterfront, where the shooting was, is such a weird place. It is filled with drug addicts and homeless people smoking weed and who knows what else. The waterfront smells like marijuana all the time, it is hard to escape the smell. You have to tell your children, yes kids, that is weed they are smoking.
But in the mix of all the crap, are just normal people walking up and down the sidewalks, walking over passed out people on the sidewalk, like they aren't even there and they're not even human beings.
A couple weeks ago, a kid (20-year-old) was passed out on the sidewalk in near 100ºf heat. I watched multiple groups of people walk right over him without a care in the world. Like he wasn't even there. The people who did notice him, mocked him, laughed at him, and simple made fun of him.
I don't know if the people just don't care, or have been exposed to so much for so long, they learn to not care because they can't do anything about it. I don't know. Here are some pics of the Seattle waterfront.

The person who starts the confrontation loses the right to use deadly force in self defense unless he first withdraws. Good luck proving that.
Which is exactly what the Prosecutor has already said. The person who starts the confrontation loses the right to use deadly force in self defense unless he first withdraws. Good luck proving that.
I guess it depends on the state.
Here even if someone starts an argument with you, you don't have the right to decide to pull out a deadly weapon over words and claim to be the victim.
So if 2 folks are having an argument verbally and one party decides to pull out what looks like a deadly weapon to try to make their point, well they are the initial aggressor regardless of who started the argument.
Wheelchair guy could have simply driven away and not tried to be the morality police.
Even in TX, if you start the confrontation and the other dude pulls a gun (even without justification) you cannot use deadly force. See 9.31(2)
Yes I did, I gave him about six bottles of water, bought him a large healthy meal, and found an address for a shelter nearby. I also gave him every encouraging word I had and let him spend some time with my GSD. If I had the ability to do more I would have. I also drove back downtown the next day as it as going to be 100+ to check on him. I didn’t see him though. You don’t have to tell your kids anything or make up a story if you have a problem telling kids something exists. Did you help this 20-ish year old “kid” aka Adult Man?

In regards to lying, I don’t. Especially to kids. You don’t have to tell them everything, but I don’t believe in lying at all-ever.
And if you don’t think that snickering teenagers don’t know what that smell is when they’re asking…well they knew. Lying would have no benefit.
One message I’ve tried to send is only a handful of things are black and white, right and wrong. Most things are in between but all decisions have consequences and weed is no different.
I’d rather them understand the real consequences of using marijuana even if it’s legal here, than lye to them and pretend it doesn’t exist. That said, it still stinks and brings no utility to walking along a beautiful waterfront, it was nicer when people kept it behind closed doors.
Wouldn’t catch me dead in that faggy state lolIt’s ok Mike, I still like you well enoughand if yer ever passed out on a sidewalk, after drawing a bunch of one winged airplanes on your face, I’ll buy you a chicken burrito too
Wouldn’t drive through Olympus let alone pass outYeah don’t pass out face down in Olympia![]()
There is hope for Washington state. Right now is the dark times, but we will make WA red again. Outside the main cities Washington is extremely conservative.Wouldn’t drive through Olympus let alone pass out
The nuance here is you need to look at B part 1
It clearly states that you can't get butt hurt because of verbal argument alone.
It's pretty clear in the law and also in case history.
That however assumes that all this started with only an argument.
(Which it does not appear it did)
IF this had ONLY been an argument and wheelchair dude had pulled out weapons, it would have been pretty simple and favoured the guy that did the shooting.
Now where it gets different however is in the report where the police claim that the guy that ended up doing the shooting first grabbed a patch or other possession from the wheelchair guy while wheelchair guy was pulling out his wallet.
If that was to wind up being true, then guy that ended up being the shooting was technically committing a crime of theft / muggery or whatever they want to say, and as such was engaging in a criminal action which then sets him up as the aggressor and limits any claim of self defense.
Seems wheelchair guy pulled out a knife first then that didn't do much so he then decided to pull out a toy gun, that's what got him dead right or wrong.
Don't pull a toy gun on someone. If you are going to pull a gun, pull a real one and be prepared to be using it as it comes out or immediately if needed.
You've brought up that police get away with it in several posts in this thread......not sure if this is sarcasm on your part? I know you know that you and I cannot do what the popo does.If you are having a verbal disagreement regardless of who started it, if someone pulls out what looks to be a deadly weapon, well they should think through how that will go down.

If you ever change your mind Washington welcomes any good, hard-working, law-abiding, 6.5 Creedmoor shooting conservatives. But yeah look out for the Cookie Monster![]()
