Seriously, I would throw a massive party (since I was out of town this year and did not throw my usual Christmas bash). That would definitely be something that most people wouldn't see coming. And with Trump, I wouldn't put it past him. If nothing else, Trump has shown an unorthodox method of work arounds to get stuff done.

Pay for the wall using salaries from RIF savings...

I read up on this and I think appropriation shutdowns are not covered by this. Because it says or lack appropriation funding does not count. I hope this is not true or Trump has found a way around it.

I would like nothing more than a RIF. The US Government is so incredibly bloated, it could use a serious diet. However, I really can't see it unless Trump has been planning it for months. In corporate America, planning large RIFs take a long time. An organization as large as the Government will be a monumental task but if it did happen, you would not be able to wipe the smile off of my face for a long freaking time.

Hold it in the oval office without all the stupid applause breaks and the rebuttal from the opposing party.

Dems dont want this because Trump strikes chords when he speaks to the people.

Pelosi didnt even contact SS to see if they had security concerns. Apparently SS has prepared for SOTU way earlier and shutdown has no security effect.

Trump is obligated to address Congress nothing says he has to do it at the Capitol.

Get a stadium and give the SOTU to the People.

No rebuttal, no nauseating bogus breaks in his speech for those fake ass kissing standing O's. We wont have to look at Pelosi sucking her teeth over his shoulder nor a board Pence beside her.

This was a bad tactical move.

I hope Trump crushes the opportunity.

You seem to forget . The US federal government can not make reduction in force with layoffs until it creates a permanent federal agency with the goal to make a hiring process to employ 17 independent study groups that research and evaluate options of RIF, with the end goal to submit no less than 71 different RIF plans to be considered for implement .

Pelosi's request may be a thinly veiled threat from the deep state that something dire "could" happen to Trump if he takes the podium. I say he informs all the usual staff that he is going to give the speech at its traditional place, but instead gives it from another location.

that would be the end for all of them, they better hope he does not slip in the goddam shower, it wold be the end of them, a very bad end, they should encourage hum to take baths in a shallow tub, and make sure he uses hand rails. If something happens to him the deep state would be wiped out in a week.

The idea of the State of the Union is pre mass media with the expectation reps/senators would bring the gist of the speech back to their constituents.

Now SOTU should be directed at the people - fuck Congress.

Remembering how good last years SOTU was - the North Korean kid and the Angel Parents being honored - its no great question why the Dems want to kill this one.

Now more than ever I think this SOTU is needed.

Honor those normal Americans, promote the gains in the economy and address the failure to enforce our immigration laws. Be Presidential in an appropriate setting - Id say avoid the rally. Speak facts, promote the positive and call out the obvious.

Im not sure Trump can pull this off though. His recent prime time address was lame.

Take it to the audience that appreciates the objectives and genuinely cares about the best interests of the country. The People.

The true depths of the swamp continues to be exposed.

Streaming the SOTU directly to the people would be a great end-around play on all the corrupt politicians and mainstream media outlets IMO.

Last time she was speaker she was sanctioned for requesting multi engine commercial sized Mil AC to fly her ass around rather than a more economical smaller alternative. She thinks the whole fleet is her personal family airline.

She steals with absolutely no concern of guilt or being caught.
