I just acquired 2000 175gr SMK's and need a boost on a load for them.
I am using H4895
Cases will be Remington BR with CCI BR-4's or LC match with probably BR-2's or Wolf

Gun is a 20" 1:12 SPS.

I know there are a ton of threads on this, but I honestly don't have the time to search all of the ones that come up.
Thanks
Curtis

I know you have 4895, and I have never used that in my 308, however, mine loves 44gr of varget with the bullet on the lands. If the 4895 doesn't work out, give the varget a try. I've heard good stuff about your powder, so I hope some of the guys here can point you in a good direction.

I have a 20" 10 twist (AAC-SD) and just ran chrono #s on the following (Use at your own risk and all that...);

175 SMK (Lake City Pull Downs)
FGMM 1x brass
BR2 Primers
46.5 gr H4895

MV= 2664
SD= 5.7

Primers and brass looked fine. Did not shoot groups with it bc I forgot my paper target stand that day. Just shot steel at 400yds through the chrono...First round hit using my 118LR Dope and then 9 more using same hold on 3/4 IPSC. Will be group testing these next chance I get.

I don't know how much 4895 you have on hand, but try picking up a pound of imr 4064. It worked great in my remmy 700 in .308 and shot out to 1500 yards with the 175s. Know it's not what you were looking for but it may be worth a try for you

I have ran IMR 4895 at 42.5 gr. groups in the .1s and .2s. Also IMR 4064 and Varget. All these powders are flawless, Accuracy wise... I believe varget was 44 gr.
